A platform to encourage networking among postgraduate students to promote long term environmental observations for a sustainable future
The Graduate Student Network is a network comprising of Honours, Masters, PhD and Postdoctoral students. The SAEON GSN seeks to encourage students to link and channel their research to deliver long-term reliable data for scientific research and inform decision making for a knowledgeable society and improved quality of life. The network facilitates and creates a platform for participation, knowledge sharing, networking and human capital development aligned to SAEON’s mandate.
Through the SAEON GSN Website, GSN members have access to first-hand information on career and research opportunities, workshops, symposia and other national and international activities.
The GSN holds its own and exciting and interactive annual conference, “The Indibano” (means “meeting” in isiXhosa) which has been running since 2008. About 20 postgraduate students are selected on a highly competitive platform to present their work.
